Getting around in 3DXChat takes very little learning. The mouse moves your character, a green star marks anything that can be used, and a menu along the right edge of the screen decides what the character is doing while it stands there.

Moving

A community guide to the controls describes movement as click-led: a left click sets the position the character walks to. The guide names the mouse as the primary controller on what is a PC-only game, and describes no keyboard movement at all.

The green star

The same guide describes the interaction cue. Whenever an action is possible a green star appears, and left-clicking it performs the action. When the action finishes, the character automatically returns to the position it held before.

That last detail matters more than it sounds. An interaction is a temporary detour rather than a change of place, so there is no walking back afterwards.

The right-side menu

The character controls live along the right edge of the screen. The guide says the choices there include walking and stepping, sitting and lying down, dancing, picking a sex position, and turning an accessory on or off.

Two sound keys

Two number keys are listed as character actions rather than interface shortcuts. The 1 key makes the character moan, and is described as working outside sex scenes as well. The 2 key produces an orgasm animation and is described as active only in sex mode.

Cameras while you act

Three keys switch the view: F5 for a free camera that moves independently of the character, F6 for the third-person camera that follows it, and F7 for a first-person view. Shift with Z hides the interface, which is what most players press before using the screenshot button in the top-left corner.
