XGold is the in-game currency. It buys gifts, cosmetic changes and a few account extras. It does not buy access to the game, which is what the membership subscription is for, and the balance belongs to the account rather than to a single character.

Earning it

A community guide to the currency lists four ways to get XGold:

• Daily login bonuses, which grow as consecutive days accumulate.

• Special in-game events, which the guide describes as offering larger rewards.

• Buying it with real money, by card, PaySafeCard or Bitcoin.

• Receiving it from other players, whether as a present or as payment for something.

Spending it

The same guide lists these prices:

• A name and gender change, at 20,000 XGold. Official support confirms both the price and the path: log in, click the gear button under your character, and choose Change Name and Gender. A single fee covers changing both.

• An additional character slot, at 10,000 XGold.

• An additional profile picture slot, at 300 XGold.

• Gifts for other players, and marriage and divorce, at prices the guide does not state.

Sending versus gifting

The guide draws a distinction worth knowing before promising anyone anything. Sending XGold moves currency you already hold to another player, and a ten per cent commission is deducted. Gifting XGold means buying new currency with real money on somebody else's behalf. The first costs a tenth of the transfer; the second costs cash.

Nobody needs it

The guide is direct that XGold is not required to enjoy the game, and that is worth repeating. The official rules also prohibit begging and soliciting in the chats, including requests to transfer game gold, so asking strangers for XGold is a rules problem rather than a strategy.
