Discovering and joining user worlds

Most of the places worth visiting in 3DXChat were built by players. The world editor is an official feature, advertised with its own video trailer on the game's website, and the venues it produces are passed from player to player. The official update history notes that version 3.2, released on 20 May 2025, added a world sharing control panel, so the mechanics below have certainly moved on.

The location list

This section is paraphrased from the community Basic Game Manual, an unofficial mirror of a guide written for version 2.5 beta build 375 in April 2018, and predates the 2025 sharing panel. Nothing in it has been reverified in the client.

A control at the bottom left of the screen opens the list of locations. The official venues sit on the left of it and the player-made ones on the right.
Your own home, My World, starts as a small bungalow and is replaced through the World Editor.
The shared-world list has a refresh control, and each row shows the world's name, its owner, and how many people are in it.
The list is ordered by that count, busiest first, and you enter a world through a join control on its row.
For a fee in XGold an owner can buy the top row regardless of how busy the world is; the manual describes a small crown marking a world that has done so.

What players actually build

A community guide to locations gives a sense of the range: a farm with a bar inside a barn, built by TomJM, and a quiet retreat called The Sanctuary Hideout by LukeM. Restaurants, casinos and nightclubs are all described as achievable with the editor.
